Rotação covers the municipalities of Almada, Seixal, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo, Palmela, Sesimbra and Setúbal, plus Lisbon. Six of the nine south-bank municipalities charge no municipal tourist tax at all. Almada, Sesimbra and Setúbal charge €2 per night, under different rules in each.

The tax is not subject to VAT — exemption code M99, article 2.º n.º 2 of the CIVA. The collection commission is 2.5 % plus VAT in almost every regulation. Data revalidated quarterly.
